People say that our food is delicious and come back for more! You will be spoilt for choice as our talented chef changes the menu regularly to reflect the very best locally sourced and seasonally available produce. There is also a daily ‘Specials’ board which includes at least one fish dish.

David Clipsham, our Head Chef, has appeared in the Michelin guide and  has an established reputation in the Oundle and Stamford area. He originally trained at the Haycock at Wansford and more recently has been involved in the development of several local pubs & restaurants into dining destinations. Good food deserves good wine and our extensive wine list features wines from around the world to suit all tastes and budgets.

Diners can eat in The Garden Room restaurant overlooking the countryside – this is the ideal venue for a special occasion, party or celebration meal. Those seeking more informal surroundings may dine in our newly refurbished bar area or the Snug and in the summer, you can enjoy al fresco dining on our terrace. All areas have level access so are ideal for those with limited mobility or wheelchair users.

Families are welcome at the Benefield Wheatsheaf – we have a special Children’s Menu and high chairs available if required.

Afternoon Tea…
To celebrate the summer, we are now serving traditional afternoon tea from 2.30 p.m. every day.  Tea for two includes home made scones with strawberry jam & cream, a selection of sandwiches including smoked salmon and cream cheese & cucumber, cakes and a pot of tea for two for £12.50.  Or treat yourself to tea with a glass of champagne each for £16.00.  Pimm’s and iced tea also available.

Thai Night - (date tbc)…
Authentic Thai food freshly prepared for you by Thai chefs from Tong Thai restaurant.  Come and enjoy a delicious selection of starters & buffet main course with Thai dancing performance for just £17.50 per head.   From 7.00 p.m. with food served at 8.00 p.m.

Gourmet Dining

For a very special dining experience…
You may wish to celebrate a special occasion or host a corporate or VIP dinner and what better way to do this than with excellent food and fine wines in your own private dining room.  Menus can be themed, classical in style or allow our chef to surprise you – it’s up to you.

We will select fine wines from around the world to suit, then each course and the wine to accompany it will be introduced by our Restaurant Manager.  Our ‘Gourmet Dining’ experience is available for groups of 10-14 people from Tuesday through to Saturday evenings.
