| Marques de Murrieta Ygay, Reserva, Rioja, Spain Splendid example of the Tempranillo grape at its finest. Dark forest fruits with hints of cassis, liquorice and the merest whiff of fine old tobacco . A couple of years in oak barrels before bottling gives it a good balanced structure. New Zealand’s Hawkes Bay has shown itself to be near perfectly suited for Pinot Noir. Lovely smooth fruit, hints of silage (good!) and long lingering dry’ish finish. Take your time over this one.
